Q. Please provide a brief summary of your concern.
A. Hello This needs to be passed along to those who are supposedly looking out for the good of this town. Why on a Saturday afternoon at 300 PM the only ones occupying the benches downtown are the homeless. And there are NO people strolling the streets or shopping. Asked the shop keepers" how's business?" Oh we've only had two customers today. How are they supposed to stay in business? The new parking lot and parking lot behind Main is mostly vacant. It should be busy. There should be a desire for New business owners and shopkeepers to WANT to open their business here. Not the other of "we don't know if we could make it there. There isn't enough foot traffic" You go to old town Temecula on a Saturday afternoon and the place is bustling. Shop owners are busy, restaurants are busy. You are hard pressed to find a parking space. What are we doing to draw people to our Old Town besides benches for the homeless to sit on? I've lived here for 30 plus years and KEEP WAITING for something to happen. It would be lovely to drive thru town on any given day and see a bustling, thriving, inspirational downtown. Examples of Old Towns revitalized: Orange Fullerton Temecula Carlsbad Solana Beach San Clemente San Juan Capistrano and the list goes on

We don't need a medical practice, a wig shop, karate shop, on main street. These are service businesses that need to be off of Main. They don't attract anything for the merchants. Guess we celebrate the day of the dead with a parade, and the rest if the year is dead too. 🤔
