On the sidewalk. wnder the awing in front of the Main Street entrance to the restaurant RUSTICANA (which seems to be abandoned) Is harboring a "kit" of pigeons underneath the front awning. The waste from these birds is collecting on the side walk and while certainly disgusting and yet one more thing that our Main Street doesn't need, it is known that contact with pigeon droppings may pose a small health risk. Three human diseases are known to be associated with pigeon droppings: histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, and psittacosis. I know that the city does conduct sidewalk cleaning but it seem that the business owner is negligent in making repairs so that the pigeon kit will be forced to find other nesting.
