The trash receptacle at Edgewood School is both inadequate and broken, leaving it a haven for vermin. I watch children having to negotiate around this filthy overflow every school day, and the weekends are the time when loads of junk are piled outside around this one lidless bin. Right now there is a pile of branches added to the mix, all right next to where children park their bikes.

The dumpster behind the chicken place on Whitney Avenue, which is visible when you walk in the alley way between Whitney and Temple Street, is open every day with garbage spilling out. I saw rats on it this morning. The stench is unbelievable, one must hold their nose to pass through this alley which is Yale property (according to a plaque affixed to the wall). There are dumpsters just beyond it corralled in a fence that are attended to and closed every day. Please look into this.

Enormous pothole on Edgewood at Winthrop, the gravel is actually strewn across the road. Seriously dangerous making the curve there on Edgewood - cars are veering out to the right to avoid damage. This has been growing for weeks - now it is critical.
  • 127 West Rock Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
Whoever is in charge of raking leaves for Edgewood Avenue School has raked them into the street, thereby clogging the drains and causing flooding. We removed the pile they pushed in front of our driveway - which is no easy feat for retirement-aged people - but we cannot clean the gutter all the way to the corner. Please shovel these up. This is unnecessary, as we are told by the city it is unlawful to rake into the street. No photos at the moment, it is raining out there (and flooding).

The Pedestrian Signal at Whitney/Audubon Streets does not work regularly. Some mornings the one on one side of the street engages the blinking lights, the next it doesn't. I suspect it has a lot of use and it gets cranky. Please fix this - lives depend on it!
  • 220 West Rock Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
Someone has parked their truck on the front lawn of this multi-family house. This not only looks terrible, it is dangerous to the environment. Please fix! Wish I had stopped to take a photo, saw it two mornings this week.

The pedestrian signal at Whitney / Audubon has not functioned for the last three days that I am aware of. One day one of the lights worked, but only one bulb lit up. Besides the fact that people do not understand that one must press the button to make traffic stop (were they raised on farms?), when the button is pushed nothing happens.
  • 551-583 Edgewood Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
On my way in to downtown this morning I saw yet another incident of dumping, this time it is two tires, on the sidewalk near Edgewood Park. Please pick these up, it makes it look like we encourage this sort of activity. Why are there no "NO DUMPING" signs in this area that indicate the fine involved for dumping?
  • 33-57 Tower Parkway New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell
I find it incredible that I am the first to report this issue since it has been like this for over two years! The left lane of Tower Parkway in the last 25 feet before the lift is a series of dips and potholes that shakes the nerves and it rattles the brains. Please fix this, I have had to have my front axle readjusted twice in the last two years due to this poor road surface.
  • 489 Edgewood Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
I have noticed that cars are using the center greensward on Edgewood Avenue as a parking lot. I saw a couple pull up on the lawn, park and walk across the street to the houses on that side of the street. When this become a thing?
  • 368-384 West Rock Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
This corner serves quite a few businesses on the West Rock side, including a very heavily attended Farmers' Market the Park Tennis courts, yet the light to enter from Whalley is about 3 cars long, and the one coming out of West Rock barely lets two cars out before it turns to red. I understand that Whalley Avenue is THE MOST IMPORTANT street of the two, but I feel like a prisoner in my own neighborhood sometimes. Please check the timing on this.
