The 18 ocean buoys are located between 96th and 87th street.
We have a service call in for replacement or reattachment of all missing buoys. This should be completed once the sole source vendor has an opening for replacement.
The lifeguard stand at 93rd street if notified or see the boats will whistle the vessels out of the area.
You can also report the vessels to the Police Department, and they can work with the lifeguards to move them out.
Thank You

Correct and staff reported this item and work order request was submitted to our vendor for replacement or reattachment of buoys.
The lifeguards have been made aware to keep this item current when patrolling the beach.
Chief of Police is also aware. PD staff will be made aware when patrolling the beach. Also, will work with the lifeguard tower when needed.
Thank You

Ocean Buoys are replaced on a as needed basis. Due to the extremally high winds over the past month, we have lost several buoys. A work order/service call has been placed with the replacement company. The service call was placed early October. Once weather conditions are favorable the buoys will be replaced.
Thank You
