This corner serves quite a few businesses on the West Rock side, including a very heavily attended Farmers' Market the Park Tennis courts, yet the light to enter from Whalley is about 3 cars long, and the one coming out of West Rock barely lets two cars out before it turns to red. I understand that Whalley Avenue is THE MOST IMPORTANT street of the two, but I feel like a prisoner in my own neighborhood sometimes. Please check the timing on this.

That there is increasing pedestrian traffic across both streets makes this an even more complex issue. State road to local road complicates it as well. Both TT&P and DOT are aware of the overall issue - and are still working on a plan for improvements. Stay tuned for a public meeting on the proposed plans later this spring or summer.
In the meantime, however, TT&P Traffic Signal Division, is it possible to add some time - even 10 seconds would help - to the left turn off Whalley onto West Rock as well as at the light on West Rock?
